The TruCraft Advantage
Have a project? Need some help? Give us a call.
In this day and age, working in construction is complicated. Deadlines are tighter, competition is tougher, and prices seem to be falling through the basement! If you are a construction professional, none of this is news to you. If you are finding it to be a challenge to maintain profitability, we are here to help! Our method of trenchless construction saves you time and money; enabling you to lower your bid while still making ends meet. How? Well to answer that, let us show you how our trenchless system differs from conventional utility construction techniques.
How Directional Boring Works
Directional boring is the latest in trenchless construction technology. Unlike jack and bore, directional boring does not require excavating large pits. A directional boring machine is a self-contained drill rig that can be driven into place and set up with almost no major excavation required. Once underground, the directional drill head can be steered in any direction: up, down, left or right to your desired target and depth. Being steerable is a major advantage that directional boring has over pneumatic "missels," or rod bore attachments. Depending upon the size of the machine and the soil makeup, a bore path can be longer than 500 feet or as short as a simple road or driveway crossing.
Trucraft, Inc. specializes in small (6" wide or less) directional boring. We are able to achieve a high level of precision and accuracy, including the placement of sewer lines on a rate of fall. And while small diameter bores are our speciality, we are fully capable of performing bores in excess of 12". Below are a few actual examples of projects we have undertaken for local contractors. For more examples, please take a look at our Portfolio page.

Project #1 Commercial Electrical Installation
You have to place an electric line that will run from your client's business to a light pole in the middle of their parking lot.
Option A:
Open-cut the parking lot. This will involve cutting the asphalt or concrete and removing it. First, you will need to dig a trench to place your utility. Next, backfill the trench, making sure to tamp and pack the soil to avoid settling. Finally, it's time to re-pave/re-pour the surface. The end result is an ugly scar on the face of the parking lot, with a ton of time and money spent before you ever perform your electrical work.
Option B:
Give us a call. With almost zero soil disturbance we can set up, drill and pull back; leaving you to simply tie in the electric lines.
We generally start by digging a hole as small as 6" wide by 24" long. We can then steer our underground drill head to any location and pop the utility into a small pothole. This can generally be done in less than one day on distances of up to 500 feet. In a matter of hours, we can have your utility placed and ready to go. This saves you days or even weeks of valuable time.

Project #2 Residential Water Line Replacement
You need to place a water line from the meter to your client's home. Their landscaping is immaculate, complete with a beautiful stone retaining wall.
Option A:
Cut a trench through the yard and try to undermine the retaining wall. (On this job, the retaining wall ended up being about six feet deep.) Along the way, you risk tearing up the irrigation and root systems of several trees. You will also have to cross the concrete driveway that sits on the upper terrace, supported by the retaining wall. Quite a project.
Option B:
Give us a call. This job took us about two hours from setup to cleanup. We shot a water line from the meter, 238 feet to the inlet at the house, without disturbing any grass or trees. We were able to cross under the retaining wall, angle our head up, and pop out of the ground at the house. That freed up the Pros from JT Plumbing to do the actual hookup the same day, without ever having to pick up a shovel.
